MIA

Sorry I have been missing on here this week. Although I have missed posting and sharing images here the last few days, there has been an exciting kind of busyness going on around my house. It involves this:

and this:

and causes my children to collect these:

Yep. That's right. We have finally started finishing the basement. My brother was here a few days this week framing the basement. Still have a bit more to go, but it is thrilling to see some progress. The goal I have for having this project finished is June. We'll see if that holds.

I am not a internet video junkie, but I found this cool video on a blog that I check. It is an extremely cool graphic design piece with a cool message.

F is for FAIL from Brent Barson on Vimeo.

And, if you haven't seen this still photography video
definitely check it out. It was created by using just over 3000 still photos. Very cool! (Have I used the word "cool" enough times to prove to you that I was a child of the 80's and 90's.) Have an exciting Friday.

ETA: Just one more video from Kodak--a little long, but covers why I love photography.

We just put in an offer on a house with a half finished basement...should we reconsider?? :) Luckily all but one room is framed.

No...I don't think you need to reconsider. We have been feeling the crunch for the last year--mostly because Alisun (11) is needing/wanting a little more room. And, as much as I love my open floor plan, there are times when we each need to be where not everyone else is. With 6 of us now, and no basement, that space is hard to find. Honestly, we could get by with just a couple bedrooms finished downstairs, now. But we figured if we are going to the work of finishing it and hiring people to help us (because we don't know what we are doing at all) we might as well finish it all. Where is the house you put an offer on?

Oh! I am deeply jealous! We still only have two walls, that looks wonderful, I can almost smell the fresh lumber (ours lost that smell a few weeks ago from sitting in a pile too long:) LOVE the stills video, that was truly amazing!

The basement does have two finished bedrooms, so I guess we could let the kids play in those as well. :) The house is in Spanish Fork on 1660 E. I've been wondering where your first house in SF was.

Our old house was on 1560 E. (1154 S.) just north of Canyon Elementary.

Wow! So that was just south of this house. What did you think of the area? We'll find out tomorrow if they will accept or counter our offer. My fingers are crossed!

We really liked the area. I think you will be in the 17th ward which is in our Stake (I think?!?) That is the ward that we were in when we moved to Spanish Fork. It was a huge ward then (the ward boundaries covered what are our Stake boundaries now) so we only got to know a few of the people in the ward. Some of them are still there. I hope your offer is accepted.
