My Favorite Flowering Trees

With my kids I try not to play favorites. But with trees--I can't help it. After all, they don't have feelings, right? All the flowering trees have been so beautiful over the last few weeks. I have tried to capture some of their timeless beauty to show you here. However, today I am here to show you my all-time favorite of the flowering trees. I have 2 in my yard because they are my favorite. I like the leaf and the beautiful richly-colored blooms in the spring. They are especially beautiful right now. I present my flowering crab apple tree.



I am so happy they bloomed so beautifully this year. Last year there were only a few blooms. I hoped for better luck this year and my wish was granted.




And now for my second favorite of the flowering trees. I only have one picture to share because I don't have this tree in my yard and so I had to photograph a neighbor's. Sadly, while photographing it, rain began pouring down so I only got a couple. Hopefully, I'll get another chance. I present the flowering cherry (I think--any experts please correct me if I am wrong.) I just love the full ruffly (probably not a word) blooms. They look like little miniature pink pom-poms.

I love the flowers on my lemon tree. They aren't particularly out of the ordinary to look at, but they smell HEAVENLY! I cannot even describe the beautiful smell that somes from these flowers each spring and fall. I can smell them anywhere in my backyard, not just near the tree. Love it.

My favorite is the dogwood. We had a wild one in our backyard at the last house. One of the things I really miss here.

I am totally loving your answers because they are trees I haven't seen in bloom. Okay, maybe I have seen a dogwood because I know they have them around here, but I can't think what it looks like off the top of my head.

I love these blooms, so pretty! I am still awaiting mine in my yard. My all time favorite blooms were the orange tree blossoms in my parents yard in California. Oh the smell! Wish I was there to capture those!

Maybe I am horrible...I love the ornamental plum tree, however, I can never own one. We have one here in our complex and we are in charge of clean up. It's a pain to clean up the small leaves, dropped fruit, and tiny blossoms. But I love seeing it out my window. Maybe one of our neighbors will have one to enjoy. :) Your pictures are amazing! I love the colors! I want to decorate McKenna's room in pinks and greens. Love it!

I love the lilac...I guess it's a bush, not a tree...but I love the smells and colors! It reminds me of playing Barbies under ours when I was a little girl. We had one of those Barbie motorhomes and my sis and I would spend HOURS playing under the lilac bushes.

I also like the russian sage bushes. OK, maybe I'm more of a bush kinda girl?

oh how absolutely glorious! Our crabapple is past it's bloom, but the white azaleas are wonderful right now. :) came here from shutter sisters. love your photos!

Me and My Camera

This blog is a photographic journal of my life as a photographer and mom. My kids and extended family have been my muses thus far. I am a mom to 4 and have been married for 14 years. I have enjoyed learning photography for the past 5 years and love that I continually learn new things.
