What Might Happen if your kids get a hold of your camera

A couple of weeks ago, my kids were having a terrible fit of boredom. There was much whining and woeing (is that a word--probably not.) In an act of sheer desperation, I let my daughters borrow one of my cameras to take pictures outside. About 300 pictures later, this is what I found on the memory card (thank goodness for digital)!

If your children borrow your camera, you might find 200 pictures of the neighbors doing nothing. BTW--200 isn't much of an exaggeration.

You might also find extreme close-ups of the neighbors.

Or pictures of the neighbors trying to escape crazy children with cameras.

You might find out how your umbrella got broken.

You might find a photographic journal of every living thing in your yard and the neighboring yards.

You might find pictures of your children's friends' dog.

And occasionally you might find a great picture like this!

So funny! Hey, there are some great shots in there. You are a good mom to let your kids free with your camera. That's probably why they are pretty good at taking pictures already!

Dang, good photography skills must be genetic!

Sheesh! Those are better than ones I take!!! Can your kids play with my kids? Maybe they'll learn something they can teach ME!!!

I am passing all your comments onto my kids. They are loving your feedback and think it is fun to see their pictures on the internet.

For the record, it was my "old" camera (just retired in April). It is still a nice camera. I really try not to hover when they use my cameras. It scares me a little to see them using it, but they are improving. They know the neck strap must be worn at all times and that they MUST hold it with 2 hands. We had a little point and shoot for these occasions, but it eats batteries like candy so it is useless when you need it. BTW, I have at least 200 pictures of Barbies, Polly's, and other Christmas gifts in various arrangements from 2 Christmases ago. My kids are extremely prolific photographers and regularly test out the accuracy of the frames-per-second my camera claims to take.
