Sledding

I think this makes our third sledding trip this winter. These were taken in Monticello on the day my nephew was baptized.

Throughout this post, check out the pictures of the GIGANTIC tube. I am guessing that it was about 6 feet in diameter and tall enough that two 5 year-olds couldn't get on it without help.

Here are the two 5 year-olds being dumped from the GIGANTIC tube.

I love my daughter's expressions in these next two photos. It just captures the moment so well.

Here it is again. . . See what I mean?!?

Any thoughts on this out of focus picture? My camera was catching about three different things it wanted to focus on. I decided to go with it and took several where the focus was in different places. There is one where the sledders are in focus, but my niece was slumped down more and you couldn't see her face. So, I chose to post this one. I think it is kind of fun--but it could be just a lame out-of-focus-picture, too.

Christmas/New Years Party

On New Years Day, we got together for another family party. It is always exciting to see everyone. This year, we had between 60 and 70 people together. We were fortunate to have good weather that allowed everyone to come.

As is true for most parties--there was A LOT of good food. Everyone brought such delicious soups and they were perfect for a cold-first-day-of-the-year party.

We had games. . . .

. . . and exchanged gifts. . . .

And just really had a great time. I guess that is what getting together is all about!
